Church of Santa Maria delle Scale
Located along the very long staircase that connects Ragusa Superiore to Ibla, this church is a bridge between two eras. It still preserves Gothic elements miraculously intact after the earthquake of 1693, but its fame is linked above all to its geographical position. The square in front is in fact the panoramic terrace par excellence: from here the view embraces the entire labyrinth of Ibla roofs, with the dome of San Giorgio standing proudly. It is the obligatory stop for every visitor arriving from the Pozzallo Hub, offering the first, unforgettable vision of the ancient heart of Ragusa.
