The Cabrera tour is an extraordinary historical-cultural and also gastronomic experience to discover the secrets of Modica and Ragusa, UNESCO cities for the late Baroque and seats of political power of the most powerful noble family in Sicily in the late Middle Ages and at the beginning of the modern age. ITINERARY: - Torre Cabrera: Gathering of participants at the Torre Cabrera in Pozzallo, a coastal defense tower against pirate attacks built in the 15th century by order of Count Bernardo Cabrera. - Modica Bassa: walking tour Visit to Corso Umberto and the Cathedral of San Pietro - Palatine Chapel, also called Cabrera Chapel (Church of Santa Maria di Betlem): built between 1474 and 1520 at the behest of Count Giovanni Cabrera in late Gothic style with an octagonal architecture of great artistic value - Modica Alta: tour with electric bike: visit to the Cathedral of San Giorgio, panoramic view from the Belvedere of Vico Pizzo and, in particular, to the Castello dei Conti and the Church of Gesù - Castello dei Conti: Modica Castle stands on a rocky promontory overlooking the city, not far from the Clock Tower. - Church of Santa Maria del Gesù (with adjoining Convent and “Studium”): it was built specifically for the marriage between Anna Cabrera and Federico Enriquez in around 1478. - The secrets of Modica chocolate: we will discover the production process of Modica chocolate, we will have a tasting at a well-known chocolate shop and we will visit the Chocolate Museum.
