LOGISTIC PARAMETERS - Duration: 6 hours - Departure Point: Torre Cabrera - Guide languages: Italian and English DESCRIPTION OF THE EXPERIENCE According to the Acts of the Apostles (28.12), Paul stopped in Syracuse for three days on his journey to Rome and preached in the Hyblaean plateau. Numerous churches and places of worship built over time, from the one located in Syracuse, to the church that can be visited in Palazzolo Acreide ITINERARY: - Syracuse - Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Tears, visit to the chapel dedicated to the Apostle, in memory of the landing of Saint Paul the Apostle in Syracuse. Near the Sanctuary you can visit the Catacombs of San Giovanni. - Syracuse – Church of San Paolo, one of the oldest baroque churches in the Sicilian city; it is located on the island of Ortigia, near the remains of the temple of Apollo - Syracuse - Cathedral of the city, in Ortigia. In memory of Paul's passage there is also a statue placed in front of the beautiful cathedral - Canicattini Bagni - TEMPO Museum (Civic Museum of Textiles, Emigrants and Popular Medicine), dedicated to Iblean popular culture. The section on popular medicine presents an exhibition dedicated to medicinal plants and two significant figures of traditional popular medicine: u ciaraulu (healer linked to the cult of Saint Paul) and a majara, dedicated to magical arts. - Palazzolo Acreide - Basilica of San Paolo Spectacular basilica, a UNESCO heritage site, dedicated to the Apostle in Palazzolo in the heart of the Iblean mountains which celebrates the Saint with solemn celebrations between faith and folklore, which culminate on 29 June, the date on which the church remembers Saints Peter and Paul (an event to which an ad hoc visit will be dedicated).
