LOGISTIC PARAMETERS - Duration: 6 hours - Departure Point: Torre Cabrera - Guide languages: Italian and English DESCRIPTION OF THE EXPERIENCE The Iblean provinces were the birthplace of great twentieth-century writers: Elio Vittorini and Vitaliano Brancati in the province of Syracuse, Gesualdo Bufalino, Giorgio La Pira and Salvatore Quasimodo in the province of Ragusa. The itinerary winds along the state road that connects Pozzallo and Modica with Ragusa and then Comiso which we could define as the "Iblean writers' itinerary" in the province of Ragusa in analogy with the "writers' road" that connects Agrigento with Caltanisetta. The itinerary ends in Comiso but ideally continues in Vizzini which is also located in the area of ​​the Iblei mountains, where the literary itinerary dedicated to Giovanni Verga starts. ITINERARY: - Pozzallo: We start from Pozzallo, birthplace of Giorgio La Pira. Our first stop will be the Palazzo Comunale Giorgio La Pira, a beautiful example of Art Nouveau architecture from the 1920s and then we will visit some Lapirian places. - Pozzallo: Places linked to Vitaliano Brancati: visit to Palazzo Pandolfi, the summer youth residence of the writer and screenwriter born in Pachino. - Modica: birthplace of Salvatore Quasimodo; here we will be able to visit the House of Salvatore Quasimodo and the Poetry Room, places linked to the poet's literary park. - Comiso: Finally we head towards Comiso, birthplace of Gesualdo Bufalino, writer and poet. In Comiso, we will be able to visit the House of Gesualdo Bufalino and the Gesualdo Bufalino Museum. Followed by dinner in a typical restaurant in the centre.
