DESCRIPTION OF THE EXPERIENCE The Ragusa coast is very varied with large sandy beaches, small fishing ports, seaside villages, naturalistic and archaeological areas. Here is a one-day itinerary, which starts from Pozzallo and ends with a fish dinner in Scoglitti. ITINERARY: - Pozzallo – we start from the fishing port where it is possible to see the return of the colorful fishing boats. Pozzallo is the only city center overlooking the sea in the province of Ragusa, currently its port is mainly commercial and tourist. - Donnalucata: old seaside village, the main seaside hamlet of Scicli. The main activities are fishing and tourism. - Marina di Ragusa – The largest tourist-fishing port in the province: stroll along the docks, look at the boats and restaurants on the Andrea Doria seafront. Free time and break for a light meal. - Punta Secca (Santa Croce Camerina) – Very small village with the “House of Montalbano”. Tiny port, very photogenic, among the most important buildings stand out the Scalambri Tower from the late 1500s and the lighthouse built in 1853 with a height of 35 meters - Caucana: we explore the Archaeological Area of Caucana, an important commercial port of the Roman and Byzantine period (4th-9th century AD) with remains of houses, churches and a lighthouse. - "Cava Randello" Integral Nature Reserve: a reserve with unique vegetation and fauna, with a fantastic beach full of dunes - Camarina: we visit the Archaeological Area of Camarina, a Greek city founded in 598 BC. with remains of temples, houses and a theater and the adjoining Kamarina museum - Scoglitti (Vittoria) – The last real fishing port in the province, still very active. Lively seafront, perfect to end the tour. - Fish dinner - we finish the journey with a dinner at a restaurant on the seafront with home-made seafood cuisine, catch of the day, excellent for barbecues and first courses with seafood.
