Open Air Museum and the Giarratana Onion

Giarratana is synonymous with its famous "Sweet Onion", a Slow Food Presidium with monumental dimensions and an extraordinarily delicate taste. The Open Air Museum tells the story of this product through installations, from traditional sowing to harvesting. This POI is not just a tribute to the flavor, but to the industriousness of the local community who was able to transform a product of the earth into an international brand of excellence. The Onion Festival, every 14th August, transforms the center into a compulsory taste journey for every traveller.
