Basilica of San Sebastiano

Located in Piazza del Popolo, the Basilica of San Sebastiano is one of the pinnacles of baroque in the Val di Noto.
The facade, made of light stone, is a triumph of sculptural decorations, with statues, friezes and columns that create a unique dynamism.
The monumental staircase raises the building above the street level, transforming the square into an imposing theatrical setting during the patronal festivals.
The interior, with three naves, houses precious marble altars and works of sacred art which testify to the wealth of the village in the 18th century.
It represents the joyful identity of Palazzolo, a place where the sacred is combined with an overwhelming architectural beauty full of details.
